NEW 2009-10 Professional Artists in the Schools (PAS) Catalog!
Our Professional Artists in the Schools Program provides innovative, in-depth, hands-on arts education to Monterey County elementary and middle schools.
Professional artists conduct workshops with the students in a specific art discipline which is chosen by principals and or teachers. Children explore their own creativity while developing their problem solving skills and imagination, resulting in an awareness of their own creative abilities. There are over 65 talented artists and performers to choose from ranging from visual, literary, and performing artists.
See the links on this page for the current roster of artists and sample classes. The Arts Council can provide guidance to the right artists and just the right classes for you. Download the current catalog which is regularly expanded. Any class can be customized and we cast a wide net for new artists upon any request. Call our office at 831-622-9060.
If you would like to become a Professional Artist in our Schools, please send email along with your current resume or curriculum vitae to Laurie Myers at laurie@arts4mc.org. Please note your discipline and grade level preferences in your message.
To make a contribution to make this program possible, please contact Paulette Lynch, Executive Director at 831-622-9060.
